NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD – Unearthed and Reanimated

In an episode of Chiller Theater: Strike of the Living Dead

Margali Morwentari, A.K.A Niels Ericson is up to tricks and treats again, just in time for the Halloween season. He has posted an old episode of Thriller Theater on YouTube, which was a late night show syndicated in the 1990s in the deep, deep south (about six feet). Niels and his co-conspirator Tim Hess put together this bit of late night camp for a number of years. Their patter made the B and C grade movies watchable and they are in the same vein as other horror hosts of yesteryear.

This is the complete Thriller Theater episode and movie from YouTube, sans period commercials and runs nearly an hour and a half. This is an ultra-rare unaired episode of Thriller Theater.

Niels Ericson has also published a number of books over the years with commentary on rare horror texts, often giving enlightening background on how the obscure book was made and remade into films that we all know and love. You can find his website here: http://www.margali-online.com/

I occasionally review or editorialize on commercial items or movies and these are my personal editorial opinions. This is a non-commercial website and I neither take money nor have advertisements on my blog, although I have no control over the sidebars or popups that a host may place here (against my will) or appearing on your computer via your host.

I am by no means a historian, professional critic or scholar, but rather more of a commentator, with a good portion of my text appearing as comments on other person's blogs. I explore things that interest me and think that a few of you out there would enjoy also.

Other than quoted copyrighted text or items used to illustrate a point, I make use of public domain items, lapsed copyright items (in the USA), and those items under the Creative Commons License and the Fair Use Doctrine. My text here is the result of research and/or opinion and is in a non-commercial context although I will occasionally make reference to products in a review.

I use images from the internet and other sources as well as my own photography or images used by specific permission where a copyright is shown. If you have a copyright issue with an image, proving ownership, I will remove it, if it does not meet the Creative Commons License requirement or the Fair Use Doctrine. I try to be reasonable in all matters, if you have an issue, contact me.

I allow comments and generally have a laissez-faire attitude to free speech, understanding that it is your personal opinion, although I reserve the right to remove posts for cause.

I generally avoid politics and religion, outside of historical or literary context, and do not post sexual or sexualizing themes. This is a family-friendly site and safe for work.

Part of the reason for this blog is to interest people in books and literature. In that pursuit I list links for free downloads of out of copyright books in the hope that this will foster a wider range of reading as well as simply get people reading more in general. I support literacy groups for beginners for for adult literacy.
